Cube Illusion, an unusual box from Hungarian design

You know the saying “Thinking outside the box”? Well, here we have a square box, but it’s what’s outside that fascinates us.
Hungarian tile designer Laszlo Tompa created a cherry wood container by experimenting with regular triangle and square based meshes (tessellation), the outcome an abstract sculpture with optical illusions.





Would you have ever guessed that inside this object there was a 40x40 cm box?
