In our previous article on Design Management we outlined a selection of Master courses in Milan. This time we will concentrate on the Master in Design Management by 24Ore Business School.
2012/13 is the first year for this Master course, though the training institution behind it has been around for nearly twenty years. Starting on the 19th November the course lasts 10 months full time, 6 months of classes followed by 4 months of internship. The course is held in Italian with compulsory training in Business English.
It is composed of 11 modules, ranging from management fundamentals to marketing and communication, and dedicated sections on the green economy, new technologies and intellectual property rights. As an integral part of the course structure, students will attend laboratories, tours of important design studios and also participate in project work for various companies. After all this training, students will have the opportunity to apply their new skills directly ‘on-the-job’ during the 4 months internship inside an architecture or design studio, design consultancy or larger companies within the design sector.
Inner Design is partnering up with the Master in Design Management by running the Inner Design Lab, a dedicated space for participants to put into practice their management training. Students will be responsible for creating and managing a section of the Inner Design Corner, organising interviews, articles and reports as well as networking with colleagues and companies.
