From the collaboration between German brand Walter Knoll with UNStudio is born the Seating Stones presented at Orgatec 2012 in Cologne.

The new collection is inspired by geological process and just like these isn't related by a solid structure, but completely free and presenting myriad possibilities for placement, color, texture, arrangement and communication.

You can use Seating Stones autonomously like individual objects or to create a complex seating system. They can be placed together, either to accommodate privacy or to invite communication.

The new modular sofa is designed for contract market and optimized for public spaces like lobbies, waiting rooms or offices.

Inspired by the bright and varied natural fabrics produced by the Incas of Latin America, Seating Stones can be upholstered in a wide variety of fabrics and colours. Seating Stones are made of Polyurethane foam on a steel frame.

The fabric types and colours can be mixed, creating different appearances and textures in each element, or in a grouping of individual seats.
