Nominated as Newcomer of the Year 2014 from German Design Award, Meike Harde is a 26-year-old designer who experiments with innovative construction rules and processes using upholstery, lighting and other furniture.

In her latest design, the word “reduction” is central to the concept behind the Stockwerk foldable shelf. Reminiscing the compressible paper model, the solid wood shelf structure collapses into a flat-packed and foldable item thanks to the sidewalls that are split, mitred and fixed with a piano hinge.

Compartments can be opened and closed when needed without the use of plug and screw connections, making it customisable in height and fun to assemble.
