I'm an exempt manager, but my staff are hourly. When we were working in the office there was absolutely no record of their breaks or lunchtime. I did greet them each shortly after their start times which varied from 7am-9am, and I knew when late if only seeing their logon pop up on my computer. Lunches and breaks were just a matter of trust, but most just ate at their desks. They can take 30 minutes for lunch, or an hour and then work a half hour later. Now that we are all working from home, new policy requires that they text or email me when starting in the morning, going to lunch, returning from lunch, and quitting for the day. No record of breaks, however.
